COVID BUT OPEN

This project was extremely special to my soul. It was time of the unknown, where at some point fear, death, mental illness was the commonality that ran throughout the word. However it was also a time of support, collaboration and unity. During a time where the world shut down and local businesses had no resources, they found themselves making decisions by the minute about being open or closed. Traditional digital platforms couldn't react fast enough to this type of pivoting and decision making as they too were losing resources and manpower. As a consumer I recognized the need for a channel that could provide a quick turnaround time to support information from local businesses while at the same time business owners could easily provide information to their customers. I decided to help however I could and created 5 instagrams pages for Miami, LA, New York, Cartagena and Greenville. Local businesses and their community had easy access to see and voice if they're open through these pages. Business were able to be "Covid, BUT open".

SOCIAL IMPACT:

I created a 360 donation model where locals could donate as low as $2, and the collective earnings would be used monthly to purchase a gift card from a local business, this credit would then be gifted to a family or person in need and impacted by Covid-19.

CREATIVE SOL IMPACT

I understood the demand for this need both from a consumer and business perspective, ensuring we provided a space and resources to allow both to engage.

LOCAL SUPPORT ACROSS THE GLOBE

I started off in three major cities: Miami, New York and LA and found local ambassadors in each city that supported me in scouting, social media management and outreach. Shortly after, my nieces and nephew joined the cause opening up pages in their home towns of Greenville, SC and Cartagena, Colombia.
